Star Trek 4 has been officially announced and although it took some time before the Kelvin Timeline cast was confirmed, some of the actors were unaware that the project had been greenlighted.
Luckily, it looks like most of the cast is eager to reprise their roles and John Cho admitted that he wanted to work on more Star Trek movies before sharing some ideas of his own.
“I’d love to do another. It would be fun to have him do another action sequence, like in the first one,” Cho told Fatherly. He quickly added that he didn’t want his own ideas to hinder any of the writers’ plans.
“But I always hesitate to say things like that because the writers get paid to dream up big things for a living and I don’t want to limit them,” Cho said.
It’s certainly an awesome idea and one that would fit John Cho’s more action-oriented career path. (He recently played Spike Spiegel in the Netflix live-action adaptation of Cowboy Bebop). We’re not sure if the writers will agree with Cho but it would be great to see Sulu being part of the action in Star Trek 4.
For now, Star Trek 4 is in early development and has not yet been given a production start date or official release date. However, there is a huge chance we’ll be getting some new updates on the project before the end of the year. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
