In a new appearance on The Official Game of Thrones Podcast: House of the Dragon, Frankel recalled panicking during his first scene.
Soon after freezing in front of the camera, he immediately saw former-showrunner Miguel Sapochnik marching through “250 background artists” to talk to him. “Fabien, what’s up? What’s going on with your face?” Frankel recalled the director saying. Although the actor eventually got back on his nerves and calmed down, it seems he will never forget the embarrassing story. “It was just the worst f**king experience of my life.” The first day at any new job is absolutely terrifying, but can you imagine working the first day on a highly-anticipated spinoff to one of the critically-acclaimed shows of all time? Of course, the pressure could certainly get to you. Even Frankel’s co-star Emily Carey recently admitted being scared during a jaw-dropping scene in Episode 4. Nonetheless, Frankel along with his co-stars have already given us a thrilling performance, and fans undoubtedly have to brace themselves for more in House of the Dragon Season 2.
House of the Dragon centers on House Targaryen, set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and before the last Targaryen, Daenerys, conquered for the Iron Throne. House of the Dragon is available to stream on HBO Max.
