Now, according to a recent scoop from notable insider Daniel Richtman (via The Direct), Secret Invasion will introduce Nick Fury’s wife Agent Priscilla Fury and she is played by actress Charlayne Woodard, who appeared for a quick second in the first trailer. It is worth noting that Woodard previously worked with Samuel L. Jackson in the films Unbreakable and Glass, where she played the mother of Jackson’s character Elijah Price. This will mark the reunion between the two actors and, this time around, it looks like they will be playing spouses.
We do have to take note that the details regarding Woodard’s role in the series have not been confirmed yet by Marvel nor reported by the major trades so we still have to take it with a grain of salt. However, the source has reported a lot of accurate scoops in the past so it is likely to be true. If Nick Fury’s wife does end up getting introduced in the series, it will mark the first time that we will see the former SHIELD director’s personal life in the MCU although he has hinted at it several times in his past appearances. It is interesting to see how the character will play into the story of the series, especially since it also seems that she is also working as a government agent. Besides Jackson, the series also stars Ben Mendelsohn, Cobie Smulders, Martin Freeman, Don Cheadle, Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Killian Scott, Carmen Ejogo, Christopher McDonald, and Dermot Mulroney.
