The cast and crew of Percy Jackson and the Olympians were in attendance at Disney’s D23 Expo over the weekend where they shared cool new details about the upcoming series. Author Rick Riordan, who is heavily involved in the development and production of the highly anticipated reboot, spoke to TheWrap about their plans for Percy Jackson’s future. “It’s going to be, hopefully, one season for every book, which gives us time to do justice to the entire story, as opposed to a movie where you have to make some cuts,” Riordan said.

This isn’t a huge surprise considering that the current season is expected to adapt The Lightning Thief, which is the first novel in Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson book series. If the one season for every book plan pushes through, we’ll be expecting at least four more seasons of the new show. The Percy Jackson and The Olympians panel at D23 Expo was also attended by Walker Scobell, Leah Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri, who will play Percy, Annabeth Chase, and Grover Underwood, respectively. This was the trio’s first major appearance since their casting was announced. Percy Jackson and The Olympians will also star Virginia Kull as Sally Jackson, Glynn Turman as Chiron, Jason Mantzoukas as Dionysus / Mr. D, Megan Mullally as Alecto / Ms. Dodds, Timm Sharp as Gabe Ugliano, Dior Goodjohn as Clarisse La Rue, and Charlie Bushnell as Luke Castellan. The series has not yet been given an official release date.
