Recently, Twitter user Artur - Library of Ohara shared an image of new One Piece merchandise, and it shows Luffy’s Gear Fifth form in full color. While it may not be the clearest picture, it does show how Luffy’s hair and clothes become white in this form, save for his sash which turns into a purple color. From the looks of it, Luffy’s eye color also turns red in this form. This confirmation of the nearly all-white look for Luffy shouldn’t be too much of a surprise for eagle-eyed readers. After all, Kaidou did mention that Luffy’s transformation turned him all-white during their fight. The official merchandise image also closely matches that of fanart that was released following the transformation’s reveal. Luffy’s Gear Fifth transformation has a unique look which is fitting given its power. Gear Fifth is easily Monkey’s most powerful transformation to date as in this form, he can transform nearly any object into a rubbery material. This new form’s debut also comes with major story reveals. The Gomu Gomu no Mi Devil Fruit is actually a Mythical Zoan fruit that grants Luffy the ability to transform and harness the powers of the Sun God Nika. With the end of the Wano arc, the series is about to start its final saga. In preparation, One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda went on a month-long hiatus which started in late June. Though the series will be back with Chapter 1054 on July 25, 2022. Along with the return of the manga, fans are eagerly anticipating the release of One Piece Film: Red, the next movie in the franchise.
