The Season 5 OVAs consist of two episodes, and both will stream on Crunchyroll this August in select territories, including the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, LATAM, and most of Europe (except French-speaking countries).
My Hero Academia Season 5 OVA Story
The first OVA is entitled HLB. The acronym stands for “Hero League Baseball” – a baseball league founded by pro heroes where full use of quirks is permitted. The episode follows heroes and Class 1-A students as they play a game of baseball. Specifically, the story is set during the last game of the HLB championship between Gang Orca and Shishido’s rival agencies. The two pro heroes head one team each, with the “Orcas” consisting of Gang Orca, Shoji, Jiro, Kaminari, Mineta, Sero, Shiozaki, Shinrin Kamui, and Mt. Lady. Meanwhile, the “Lionels” consist of Shishido, Ojiro, Sato, Shishida, Shoda, Fat Gum, Kirishima, Amajiki, and Tetsutetsu. The second OVA episode is entitled Laugh! As if you are in hell. Unlike the first OVA, this one is a bit more serious as it follows Deku, Bakugo, and Todoroki as they intern for Endeavor’s agency. In the events of the episode, the three are tasked with finding the villain “Smiley.” While Smiley may not seem to pose much of a threat at first, the villain’s quirk turns out to be quite powerful as he can make anyone who looks into his eyes laugh hysterically.
My Hero Academia Season 5 OVA Release Date, Countdown
The My Hero Academia Season 5 OVA episodes will release on Crunchyroll on August 1, 2022, at 5:00 AM PT / 8:00 AM ET / 1:00 PM BST. After these OVA episodes, Season 6 of the series will begin airing this October.
