Recently, Febri.jp released the third part of its interview series with Lycoris Recoil director Shingo Adachi. There, Adachi discussed his ideas for future stories set in the anime’s world. In the interview, it was noted that the world of Lycoris Recoil is complicated as there are many factions with their own views and objectives. Despite this, Adachi said that the anime’s focus is still on Chisato and Takina. This focus on the two protagonists is great for character development, though Adachi said that he wants to create a story that’s set in the same world, but with a different point of view. That is if another opportunity for more Lycoris Recoil stories opens. Given the show’s success, it’s possible that a LycoReco spin-off following different characters might happen soon. After all, there’s already a Lycoris Recoil light novel spin-off that was released recently. As for which characters he is interested in following, Adachi talked about how exploring the daily lives of cleaners might be interesting. He also mentioned that he hopes to get a chance and create more daily life stories set in LycoReco café. Lycoris Recoil (also called LycoReco by fans) is an original anime series by A-1 Pictures. It is directed by Shingo Adachi and written by Asaura, with character design by Imigimuru. The series is set in an alternate version of Japan that’s protected by an all-female group of assassins and spies called “Lycoris” which is tasked with taking down criminals and terrorists. They protect Japan without the knowledge of the public, with their operations being covered up as simple accidents. One of these Lycoris agents is Takina, who, at the start of the series, was demoted for disobeying orders. She is then assigned to work under Chisato, a carefree agent working in LycoReco, a café that’s an undercover agency branch. Takina and Chisato are opposites, with Takina’s strait-laced personality clashing with Chisato’s bubbly demeanor. Though Takina must get along with her new partner if she wants to get her old position back. New episodes of the anime are released every week on Crunchyroll.
