A Darker Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight
In an interview with Screen Rant, Hastings explains why the new Netflix animated series will have a darker tone compared to its movie series and TV shows. “Because of the changing face of TV, we’re going a little more mature and a little deeper,” he said. He has intentionally added “more serious and introspective elements” into the show so that it can fit into the ever-changing world of TV. However, he promises that Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight will have the same fun and action as its predecessors, though some arcs are more mindfully explored, and the show itself will be more emotional. “We’ve had dark moments in this series, along with all of the fun action set pieces that we usually have, so I was very interested in bringing a lot more emotion into it,” he continued. “Perhaps more emotion than was in Legends of Awesomeness. There’s some more danger.”
