The manga will first return from its lengthy hiatus via new chapter releases on Weekly Shonen Jump. Following this, the next volume will be released and is expected to compile Chapters 381 to 390.
Hunter x Hunter Returns From Hiatus
Hunter x Hunter is a manga series by Yoshihiro Togashi, the creator of Yu Yu Hakusho. The manga began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump way back in March 1998. Since its release, the manga has become a massive hit, with the series having over 84 million copies in circulation as of July 2022. It was also popular enough that it got several anime adaptations. The first of these adaptations was a 1999 TV anime by Nippon Animation. This was followed up by an OVA series from the same studio. Then, in 2011, it received another TV anime, this time by Madhouse.
While the series has been ongoing for a long time now, Hunter x Hunter has gone on several lengthy hiatuses. In the beginning, the series was serialized weekly with only a few breaks. But beginning in 2005, Togashi has gone on several long breaks due to health issues. The most recent hiatus has so far been the longest given that it’s been almost four years since the last chapter release, though series fans will be happy to know that the series will return in Weekly Shonen Jump beginning October 24, 2022 (JST). This lines up with Togashi’s recent progress updates about his work on the series which he started doing earlier this year via his personal Twitter account.
Hunter x Hunter Volume 37 Cover, Release Date
The Volume 37 cover was shared on Mantan Web, and it features Morena Prudo, the boss of the Heil-Ly Family. Morena being on the cover might be a sign that she will play a big role in the ongoing Succession Contest Arc. It’s also interesting to note that the Volume 37 cover features Morena drawn in a semi-realistic art style that’s reminiscent of the Volume 34 cover. It’s also a far cry from the style of the Volume 36 cover art. Hunter x Hunter Volume 37 will be released in Japan on November 4, 2022. It is expected to compile Chapters 381-390. Right now, there’s no word yet on an international release date.
