While the first preview for the highly-anticipated film gave us the usual humor and antics that we see from the team, it also teases an emotional journey for the character with several shots of our favorite heroes in peril or in the middle of a dramatic moment. It also gave us our first look at Will Poulter’s Adam Warlock and Chukwudi Iwuji’s High Evolutionary, who both seem to be pivotal characters in the film. They also revealed that Lylla, Rocket’s anthropomorphic otter friend, will also make an appearance although they didn’t reveal the voice actor behind her. You can check the full trailer here:
While the trailer didn’t reveal anything about the story of the film, it does look very promising and it’s pretty clear that the upcoming installment will be its most emotional one yet. It also looks like they will finally explore Rocket’s backstory with glimpses of the character in his younger years. This should excite fans who have been looking forward to it. The film’s synopsis reads: “Our beloved band of misfits are looking a bit different these days. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him to defend the universe along with protecting one of their own. A mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.” The cast includes Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Will Poulter, Elizabeth Debicki, Sylvester Stallone, Chukwudi Iwuji, Sean Gunn, and Maria Bakalova.
