The upcoming Ghostbusters VR game titled Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord has just received a brand-new trailer, and it doesn’t just feature the iconic 1984 song “Ghostbusters” by Ray Parker Jr., it also has a voiceover from none other than Ernie Hudson, who plays Ghostbuster Winston Zeddemore!

This isn’t the first time Ernie Hudson has lent his talents to the Ghostbusters gaming universe, as he appeared in the fan-favorite Ghostbusters: The Video Game (2009) and more recently, in this year’s asymmetrical multiplayer game Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed (2022).
Whether or not he will appear in the upcoming virtual reality game in some shape or form, though, remains to be seen. Either way, Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord looks like a solid Ghostbusters experience, which finally allows players to don the proton pack and do the ghost-busting themselves.
The game joins a number of upcoming Ghostbusters projects which were announced earlier this year on Ghostbusters Day (June 8). Not only is a live-action Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequel heading for theaters next December, there’s also a Ghostbusters animated movie and a Ghostbusters animated series in the works at Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation.
A canonical comic book that will follow on from Ghostbusters: Afterlife will also be released some time next year, although this is not expected to form part of IDW Publishing’s long-running “Ghostbusters” series.

Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed went on sale on October 18, while the upcoming Ghostbusters VR game will be released some time during 2023 on Meta Quest 2 and PlayStation VR 2.
Ghostbusters 4 will be released in theaters on December 20, 2023.
