In his recent guest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Don Cheadle briefly spoke about the recent shakeup in the Armor Wars project when he was asked if he was involved in the decision to change the format into a feature film. However, the actor clarified that he has nothing to do about the move. “Contrary to popular belief, I don’t make those kinds of decisions at Marvel,” he simply responded. When Kimmel joked that the War Machine can order everyone to do whatever he asks them, Cheadle also jokingly answered with, “Well, War Machine is a fictional character…”
A few weeks ago, Marvel Studios executive Nate Moore also addressed the shakeup on Armor Wars where he explained that the changes were made due to the nature of the story and the budgetary requirement that wouldn’t work in a TV series format. While Cheadle didn’t express his full reaction to the major change, it looks like he was game with the idea as didn’t show any hint of objection to the decision that Marvel Studios made. Now, it’s just a matter of when are they planning to release the film although it’s still ways off since we might not hear another significant update anytime soon. Nevertheless, it is exciting that the War Machine will finally have his own solo movie and it is curious to see what exactly they have in store for his big-screen adventure as well as how they will explore Rhodey even further beyond what we know about him so far.
