The feature film is set to be written by Mike Carey, Director Colm McCarthy and Producer Camille Gatin and to be produced by Scary Monster, Lakesville Productions and Foton.Pictures. Writer Mike Carey also worked on Lucifer and other books in The Sandman universe, which were also created by Neil Gaiman.
Edmund Kingsley, who produces for Lakesville Productions, shares he’s delighted to work on this fantastic team for Violent Cases, which he considers is ‘about the power and importance of storytelling.’
Colm McCarthy from Scary Monster adds, “Violent Cases is a wild, hallucinatory, yet thought-provoking and emotional comic. It’s so exciting to build a film from this incredible, genre-defining work.”
Mike Carey shares his thoughts on working with the team, too. To him, Violent Cases was a ‘revelation and a joy’ as an aspiring writer back in the late 80s. The writer says its darkness and playfulness ‘defined a new approach to storytelling.’
